The purpose of The Northwest Ohio Natural Hair & Beauty Expo is to Inform and Inspire through Educational Workshops, Encouraging Forums & Exhibits and Empowering Performances by local artists, exhibitors and professionals.

About The Kitchen Salon:
The Kitchen Salon has been a Natural & Locked Hair resource since 2007. Rich in articles covering a wide range of topics from transitioning to natural hair to dealing with social/political hair issues, this online resource has been providing information and inspiration since its conception in the 90′s.

Literary works were at the forefront in Natural hair resources in the 90′s and into the new Millenium, the world wide web has been the ultimate resource! Today, meetups are what’s connecting the literary age to the technological age.

The Kitchen Salon hosts Meetups and Workshops/Classes, covering a variety of  natural hair topics.

About Yasu:
Yasu studied Cosmetology in New Orleans, LA and Business in Toledo, OH and works in Healthcare with the Developmentally Disabled and Alzheimer’s Patients. Her experience with natural hair spans 15 years.

Going Natural in the late 90′s she did not have much access to information about natural hair textures and its care except for a few books that were found in local libraries. She and a friend did research about going natural and embarked on the Transitional journey together.

In 2007 she founded Thekitchensalon.com as an online continuation of her journey.

Yasu acknowledges that Natural Hair is a growing community and what may be common for some is a whole new world to others. She is dedicated to the local community, keeping them educated and encouraged through her work with The Kitchen Salon.
